If you have any other questions that haven’t been answered here please don’t hesitate to send me an enquiry: blushandbangsbeauty@gmail.com
I'm interested to book Blush & Bangs Beauty for my wedding, what are the next steps?
Head over to our 'Request a Quote' page and fill out the bridal form with all of your details and we will get back to you as soon as possible with our availability and a quote. If you're happy to proceed with the booking let us know and we will send you a booking form. We will then need you to fill out the booking form out and transfer a $200.00 deposit to secure your wedding date.
I'd like to book a trial with you before I book you for my wedding, is this ok?
Yes, it definetly is! It's good for you to meet us and to ensure our style is what you are after. Please send me any feedback you have after the trial - this is a chance to see how my products react on your skin, test the hair longevity and to make sure the style you like is definitely what you're after. It's ok to change your mind about the hair or makeup style too, as that’s what a trial is for! Just let us know!
Are you able to hold my wedding date for me?
We can tentatively hold your date for 7 days from when you contact me, but unfortunately will need to offer it to other enquiries if I don't hear back from you.
Why do you want me to find pictures of the styles I like?
This is the inspiration that we will work from at the trial. It is really important that you spend some time thinking about this to get the most out of your trial and be happy with the result. Without some pictures to guide us we can certainly create a look that we think suits you, but we’ll only be guessing as to what your idea of the perfect natural makeup looks like!
I'm not sure where to find hair or makeup styles to suit me?
Have a think about the style of wedding you are having and your dress. Is it a vintage, modern, boho? Is the neckline strapless, one shoulder, lace with a wide boat neck or a plunging V. Is there detail on the back of the dress, do you want to show this off? Find pictures of people with similar colouring to you and see what they are wearing. Pinterest is an amazing source of inspiration and you can then send me a board with your pins (please note: you may spend hours absorbed by all the inspiration!) . Try to then cull down the inspiration to a few images that you really like so that we can trial your favourite and most suited to you and your wedding theme. When trialling makeup it is better to try one style as you really need to start again from the beginning to get the best result but we can work up in intensity from light to dark if you wish.
Will my hair/makeup last the whole day?
Yes, we use quality products that ensure your makeup and hair will last the whole day (assuming you don't stand out in the wind and rain -and even then it should survive!) If you have any particular concerns please let me know at the trial so I can address these with you.
What should I do in the lead up to the wedding to prepare my skin?
I highly recommend you book in for a series of facials with a qualified facialist at least 3-6 months before your big day, especially if you have concerns with blemishes. This will ensure your skin is in tip-top condition, smooth and hydrated and that the makeup will go on like a dream. If you don't have time or funds to do this please invest in a good exfoliator (and use it 1-2 times per week) and cleanse and moisturise twice daily. That and get as much shut-eye as you can and stay hydrated (particularly if you work in an air-conditioned office or fly regularly).
If you’d like to have your brows on point and in perfect shape please don’t hesitate to contact us and we can arrange a Brow Sculpt treatment (measure, trim, wax, precision tweeze and tint).
When should I wash my hair?
If your hair is going to be blow dried wash it just before I arrive so it is still wet. If you're having an up-style wash it the night before and only condition the ends.
How long does it take on the day?
We like to allow around 1hr per person for an up style and 45mins for makeup. We will usually build extra time into your running order on the day as you will be surprised how fast the time goes with all the little things that crop up like phone calls, your flowers arriving and friends and family dropping by to wish you well. Trust us, it will fly on the day!
Do you offer discounts?
Unless you have been offered a discount at a bridal expo or a special offer on our Facebook page or Instagram pages we are unfortunately unable to offer discounts. As much as we would love to help out every bride we believe our prices reflect our experience, quality products and top-notch customer service as a sole trader (we need to pay our bills too!).
But I only want natural makeup and a simple hairstyle, is that cheaper?
Natural makeup styles don't necessarily mean they take less time. Hairstyles also involve the same preparation that goes into more complex ones and the preparation is usually what takes the most time.
Do you include lashes in your makeup applications?
For the Bride and Bridesmaids the prices include lashes. You can of course opt not to have them applied if you prefer. Mother of the Bride/Groom can add them if desired however will incur a charge.
Do you use hair extensions and can I purchase these from you?
We do use hair extensions in up styles (or down) for ladies who wish to add more volume or length. We can get sets in and dye them to match you hair colour if needed. Please let us know when you enquire if you are interested in this and we can give you a quote.
Are you a hairdresser?
Yes, we are qualified to cut and colour. We have also worked in the wedding industry for over 25 years.
Can I buy touch up products from you?
We do have touch up kits available for purchase. They include a translucent oil blotting power (which the whole bridal party can use- as its translucent!) and can match up the lipstick colour also after your trial.
